After defeating the shadowfang dragon, head right and follow the path south into Muroe Town. There’s no point in exploring the outskirts right now since the chests and enemies only spawn after this quest. Here you’ll meet the Strange Young Girl who Looks Like a Scammer.

Extorting her is recommended even if you don’t plan on getting S Rank since it provides a rather nice sum of gold to start with.

True Value

You are now free to explore Muroe Town. You also should have some stat points from leveling up. If you aren’t sure which stats to invest in, simply allocate it all into AGI.

At this point you can consider buying some supplies and gear, as well as explore the outskirts.

Also consider learning the recipe for Braised Carp at the eatery and crafting a few. Healing both HP and SP at the same time makes it a lot more useful than Instant Bandages and Coffee Powder in this chapter.

Once you’re done, head into Muroe Town’s general store (the second of the three buildings at the top of the town) and a cutscene will play.

Recover the Stolen Purse

Head to the southwest of Muroe Town and follow the footprints into the well. Pay attention to how much you’re leveling here if you want to get all the titles (in particular, don’t go past level 7).

Head down into the hallway and turn right. Here you’ll see two rooms. Each room contains a switch. Flip both of them to unlock the gate blocking the hallway’s exit.

When you reach the end of the sewers, interact with the center of the wall in front of you to reveal a hidden door. Head inside and you’ll come face to face with the thief—Youmu Konpaku.

Interacting with the transparent bat at the bridge will allow you to fight the Soul Bat, which has a chance of dropping oral penicillin.

Visit Hakugyokurou

Head to the east of Muroe and enter Hakugyokurou. Enter the room in the middle to talk with the master.

To Fight as One

Return to Youmu in the sewers and she’ll join the party. Assign her stat points and head to Hakugyokurou to face off against Yuyuko Saigyouji. If you’ve been paying attention to how much you’re leveling, you’ll gain the Ghost of Immaculate Beauty title.

Investigate Muroe Town

Head to the mayor’s house (the house under the weapon shop with no sign) and talk to the mayor. Youmu will accept a quest to help exterminate some monsters.

Mayor’s Request

Head into the sewers and go back to where you first fought Youmu. There, you’ll encounter the Mutated Mushroom. Defeating it will cause Magikarp to spawn. You can start the fight by interacting with the fish at the southwest corner of the first room in Muroe sewers, which will grant you the title A Wild Magikarp Appeared! and +1 Rating. Defeating Magikarp is required for S rank!

After defeating the Mutated Mushroom, head up and into the outskirts. Search around the northern sections of the area for Jibril the Bee and defeat her. She’ll drop Queen’s Honey which can be used to complete the Spoiled Brat and Bitter Medicine quest, which is required for S rank.

If you want S rank, remember to complete Spoiled Brat and Bitter Medicine BEFORE completing this one. Leaving the mayor’s house after turning in this quest automatically starts the next one.

Take this opportunity to stock up on supplies for the final dungeon. Once you’re ready, head into the mayor’s house and talk to the mayor again.

Strange Barrier at Hakugyokurou

Leaving the mayor’s house after completing Mayor’s Request automatically starts this quest. This is the final dungeon of the chapter, and you can’t leave until the end.

Push through the dungeon. Don’t exceed an average level of 11 if you want the boss title. Remember to also fight the Sword of Desolation in the second room if you want S rank. Otherwise, you can choose the skip the fight, although it’s not recommended even if you’re not going for S rank.

At the end of the dungeon is where you meet Mysterious Person 1 and Mysterious Person 2, the former of which is the chapter’s final boss. You might want to make a save before this point as this is not an easy fight, and if you want S rank (or just don’t want to lose) defeating them is required. This is basically a check to see if you’ve been building your characters properly.

Spoiled Brat and Bitter Medicine

Note that this quest only appears in the logbook once you’ve completed it.

After defeating Jibril the Bee in Mayor’s Request , head to Muroe East and enter the first house on the left, beside Hakugyokurou. Talk to the bedridden child and give him the Queen’s Honey.

Completing this quest is required for S Rank, but if you don’t care about that, you can keep the Queen’s Honey and the +150 Max SP for yourself.
